Hazard Vs Risk

Hazard means :

Something which have potential to harm us.

This may be a situation, human action, condition,  behavior result of which may harmful to :

• Human life
• Health 
• Injury 
• Adverse effect on Environment.
• Loss of property.

Hazard is not always hurt us or not always harmful to us, but there chance or potential to harm. 

As we know the potential hazard from 

• Situation in which we work.
• Condition in which we are doing task or activity.
• Condition of surrounding area where work.
• Posture during the activities 
• Behavior of the person/ mental condition during the work

What is next ? ... what to do with ?

We should analyse that :

1. What is the chance of occurrence of the event which may harm us ?

2. How severe the event may be, how much it can harm us ?

Combination of the above chance/likelyhood and Severity called Risk.
